REBECCA URIE.

Rebecca is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience working with people 14 years and over on a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, chronic pain, changing habits, coping with big emotions, relationship difficulties and sleep. Rebecca’s particular interest is in treating trauma and draws on modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Somatic Psychotherapy, Schema Therapy, EMDR, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Rebecca is a provider under Medicare, Workcover, TAC, VOCAT, and NDIS.

Psychology is a vocation for Rebecca—she embraces continual learning in her profession–there is always more theory, research, and training to engage in! Rebecca loves the ongoing practice of learning how to be deeply present which each client and that each person she meets challenges her to meet them where they’re at and work hard with them to figure out exactly what they need and what they need to get there. Ten years in she still feels moved by the vulnerability and courage she sees in clients.  Sometimes confronted with unimaginably tough things yet still finding ways to face these difficulties on their own terms and to live a life that matters to them.

Outside of work, Rebecca is a mum and lives with her newly blended family in the Yarra Valley.

You can find Rebecca at The Nourish Space on Tuesdays through Thursdays for face-to-face or telehealth appointments. For queries and bookings, contact Rebecca on 0493 522 775 or email rebecca_urie@fastmail.com.
